Laurie + Mike’s wedding was my first wedding of 2020! WOOHOO!
And what better way to kick off off this BRAND NEW website by blogging my FIRST 2020 wedding! EK!
Their wedding day started on a brisk February morning, and yet when I arrived to start Laurie’s getting ready photos, the sunshine was just pouring in through every window. This day was just meant to be – and I incorporated the golden sunshine in as many of her detail photos as possible. I mean, LOOK AT THAT LIGHT THO?!!??!?
Once arriving to the Ancaster Mill in Hamilton Ontario, I was starstruck by the beautiful chapel they were getting married in. This was the first time I had been to this venue and I took every opportunity possible to get every angle, even the unique glittery ones. (Again….yay for sunlight woohoo!)
Their ceremony was full of light and love, which led to the best day of photos while laughing, slipping on ice, and a night full of beautiful words and good company.
Every year without fail, weddings continuously remind me of how much I love my job and why I do it.
It really is rare to hear people’s say aloud their deepest and truest feelings about each other. It’s not very often this happens to me, but Mike’s speech to Laurie at the end of the night last Saturday MADE ME CRY.
He spoke about her like she was every bit of sunshine that drenches every room with gold, and every bit of soul that can be found on this spinning earth. It was so beautiful so hear such words crafted from the deepest of feelings. It’s amazing that humans are capable of loving other humans so damn much – it’s honestly beyond our comprehension.
It’s when I hear speeches like this, that it really really reminds me that the truest and deepest of love is so rare yet so real. If it wasn’t, there wouldn’t be so many poetry books with love in the deepest form spilled on every page.
Thank you for inviting me to take part in capturing your day – there is no better way I would want to start of my 2020 wedding season!
