ENGAGEMENT SESSION TIPS

1. WHY DO AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION? The biggest reason is so you can get comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. Instead of being nervous and not knowing what to expect on your wedding day, you’ll walk into it feeling fully prepared as you already have experience in front of the camera from your engagement sesh!

2. WHAT DO I WEAR? Don’t worry, many photographers send outfit guides to you prior to. But the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and you feel like YOU! Just because you are getting photos done doesn’t mean you have to dress to the nines (unless you want to of course!). You can wear anything you want from aesthetic to casual or even a potato sack for all I care! Either way, it should be what makes you feel your best! *Bring various options of clothes! This allows you to have different looks and gives your photographer the opportunity to switch out an article of clothing if it doesn’t match the vibe!*

3. DO I GET MY HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE? Lots of people take this opportunity to have their hair/makeup trial done on the day of their engagement session which is totally cool! But, I have also, unfortunately, had couples cancel their engagement session after having their trial done hours earlier because they hated how their hair/makeup turned out – keep this in mind that although it’s slim, there can be a chance of this. If you don’t usually wear too much makeup, then don’t feel like you need to get it done! Your shoot is about YOU feeling your best so come how you will feel most confident and comfortable.

4. WHERE DO WE GO? If you have a specific spot in mind with sentimental meaning to you this is always a great idea! But your photographer will also have many amazing spots to recommend if you have a specific vision.

5. DO I BRING PROPS? You sure can! Try to bring things such as accessories, hats, a picnic, skateboards, cool car, motorcycles, and even your pets or farm animals!

6. DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO POSE? Not at all! Just relax and enjoy your shoot with your partner as your photographer guides you through every movement! Leave that to us and enjoy yourself!
